A Short Drive To Lagoon House

You can travel to Kangaroo Island one of two ways either take the ferry from Cape Jervis to Penneshaw or fly from Adelaide Airport to Kingscote Airport. Once you are on the Island you are only a short drive to Lagoon House.

From the Sealink Ferry Terminal at Penneshaw      

  • Distance is approximately 18km (20 minutes driving time)
  • Take the main road out of Penneshaw to Kingscote
  • Pass the turn-offs to Baudin Beach and Brown Beach
  • Approximately 3.5km after Brown Beach turn right at the Island Beach signpost (look for the large water tank on your right as a marker)
  • Drive approximately 4km along this dirt road until you come to a “T” junction & turn right
  • Lagoon House is situated 100m on the right

From the Airport at Kingscote   

  • Distance is approximately 35km (30 minutes driving time)
  • Take the main road to Penneshaw
  • Pass the turn-off to American River
  • Approximately 14km after American River turn left at the Island Beach signpost (just past Felt Hat Corner)
  • Drive approximately 4km along this dirt road until you come to a “T” junction & turn right
  • Lagoon House is situated 100m on the right

The serenity & the local wildlife on our doorstep is really very special.

My family of 6 stayed at Lagoon House for three nights and we wish it could have been longer. The house was spacious and very well presented. Joan was very easy to communicate with and accommodated our needs. The location of the house is breathtaking, nestled among trees with kangaroos and wallabies on our door step. We loved the seclusion of the house and we also liked the proximity to a number of KI's attractions. Thanks for a great stay.
